NEGOTIATION ASSESSMENT (20%)

SITUATION

The management wants to start a team building training course. The training department has organised the course to run one and half hours every evening, four evenings a week for 12 weeks.

The employee representative think that they are already a good team and do not require such an extensive team building course. Moreover, the schedule seems too demanding for them.

The training department, however, says that this number of hours is necessary in order to develop good team working skill among the company employees.

The general manager has called a meeting to discuss the issue.

TASK

Based on the situation, use the approaches, phases and expressions of negotiation to discuss and decide the best way to solve the problem.

Your discussion should be between

·        25 to 30 minutes (groups of 5 or 6)
