Title of Speech: Child Abuse
Purpose of Speech: Make people aware about increasing number of cases in child abuse
Main Idea: Child abuse in Malaysia

A.   INTRODUCTION (1/2 – 1 MINUTE)
Attention Getter Listening to audience sound of laugh and cry of baby. Case of my nephew Muhammad Zafran Anaqi was victim of child abuse.

Definition of child abuse and types

                                          i.    supporting points
Child abuse is defined as a variety of abnormal behaviours directed against children.
                                         ii.    supporting points
Types of child abuse are : Child sexual abuse, , Physical abuse, Child neglect, Emotional neglect, Failure to thrive.

Report and cases (statistics) of child abuse

Statistics show that reported child abuse cases are actually on the rise in Malaysia.








Statistics show types of child abuse cases increase every year.(2001-2007)

A three-month-old baby abused by his child-minder in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.The boy's parents were shocked when doctors told them that their baby had broken his left hand and leg.

Prevention of child abuse

1)The education of kids to recognize inappropriate behaviors (sexual and       
   physical)
2) Report possible abuse at it's earliest stages to their parents or family will    
    help children avoid being abuse.
3) Identify real abusers almost immediately to law enforcement,

1)Psychiatric help would be available to treat those who abuse children.
2)    Most abusers, once they have acted out and committed acts of abuse,  
  are arrested, charged, sent to prison, and marked for life as criminal.

Co-operate solve this problems. It getting worse when we just listen and look the cases of child abuse without any action and intervention cause the impact to child not for a short term but for a long term.
